What is Guard?

If available in your subscription, Guard allows you to send encrypted email.

Guard is a security-centric email encryption solution crafted to bolster email and data protection. It integrates seamlessly with the Everymail.com platform, offering an intuitive method to secure communications and manage encryption keys.

Key Features of Guard

  • Email Encryption:
Supports PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) encryption for emails. Provides the option to use S/MIME encryption for users with certificates. Encrypts both the content and attachments of emails, ensuring secure communication.
  • Key Management:
Enables users to create, manage, and import PGP and S/MIME keys. Users can upload public keys of external recipients or share their own public keys for secure exchanges.
  • Integration with External Recipients:
Facilitates secure communication with recipients lacking PGP keys through guest accounts or password protected email access.
  • Autocrypt Support:
Streamlines email encryption by automatically exchanging public keys with compatible clients.
  • Password Management:
Ensures secure handling of passwords for encryption keys, with options for securely resetting or changing passwords.

How do I know if I have Guard?

Open Everymail email

Click gear Settings > All settings ...

Look on the left side navigator in the All Settings view. You'll see items like GeneralSecurityE-mail, etc. If Guard is available with your subscription, you will see an entry with a lock icon, called Guard.

Why Might I not have Guard?

Whether or not an Everymail subscription includes Guard depends on the arrangement with the former email provider before Everymail subscription. If unavailable, it cannot be added at this time.
